About the event

Hedgehogs are declining rapidly in Britain. Over the past 20 years the hedgehog population has plummeted by 30% and in some areas as much as 50% (People's Trust for Endangered Species) resulting in hedgehogs now being on The Red List and are classed as ‘vulnerable to extinction’.

Come along to hear how we at Prickly Pigs Rescue are hoping to give hedgehogs a helping hand by not only taking in sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs but also raising the public’s awareness of the plight of this much-loved animal.  We will provide practical tips on how you can make your garden hedgehog friendly.

Since opening in 2020, this family run rescue, open 365 days a year, treats 100’s of hedgehogs (last year 504) and at our peak we had over 70 hedgehogs at one time needing some kind of care and food!  We rely on public donations and the fundraising efforts of our team so if anyone attending would like to bring along donations of meaty wet cat or dog food that would be greatly appreciated.

Cost: Bring along (if you can) wet dog/cat food!

     Booking: Advised
