Burley Summer Festival 2016
Bunting is up in the park and there are posters across the village. Ticket sales have been going well with some events already sold out and several more with only a small number of places left. Sales have been rather slow for a few events so if you are thinking of booking please can we ask that you do so now. We are always reluctant to cancel events but will need to do so where the demand is too low.
Remaining tickets will be sold online until at least the day before each event, and from the Roundhouse during Festival Week itself.
Please note: the ticket price for One Night Stan on Monday August 22nd has been reduced from £10 to £5. (People who have already bought tickets will receive a £5 refund on the door.)
There has been one change in the programme: Silsden Town Band has had to withdraw from the Festival. We are very pleased to report that we have engaged Knaresborough Silver Band to appear on Sunday 21st. This will be its first appearance at the Burley Summer Festival and we look forward to welcoming them.
Scarecrow registrations have now closed, and there has been a good response. The Scarecrow Trail Forms (£1) will be available in the Roundhouse each day between Saturday 20th and Friday 26th between 10am and 2pm, and from the Red Lion during their opening hours. PLEASE hand in your completed form during the week, with your choice of winners, ready for the judges to nominate the winners.
In addition to the contributions of Committee members to running the Festival Week we also need a lot of volunteers. There is a description of the ways that you can help during the Festival and a detailed list of tasks and times on this website under the General Information tab. Please look at the list and contact Sylvia Tilford (email@example.com) as soon as possible with any offers of help you can make. We are very keen to involve young volunteers so if you are 13 years or over please get in touch. Any questions about the volunteering tasks can also be sent to Sylvia.
Please encourage friends and relations from outside the village to come along and join in what we hope will again be a most enjoyable Festival Week.
As ever we hope for good weather.
