Walk #4 - Day Walk to Addingham
Time: 9:30am
Venue: Meet at the Roundhouse, Grange Park
A 14-mile walk from Burley to llkley, passing a war memorial and plane wreckage remains and then on to Addingham Moor trig point with its fine views over Wharfedale. A section of the Dales High Way then takes us through Addingham Moorside before dropping down to Addingham for refreshments. We return to Ilkley about 5pm using the Dales Way via riverside paths. There is an optional extension of a further 4 miles back to Burley. Please bring a picnic and drinks for lunch.

Heroes and Villains Holiday Club for Years 1 - 6 (in the following Autumn school year)
Time: 10am - 12noon for 3 days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
Venue: Methodist Church
Primary school children in years 1 to 6 in the following Autumn school year are invited to these sessions packed with fun and games, singing and dancing, stories and adventure.
Cost: £5 for all three sessions

A circular Health Walk down Iron Row, along the Goit, up Leatherbank, returning along Main Street and back to the library. Steady walking lasting just over an hour with Ann Nuttall. Come along for some Pyjama Drama fun. We will sing some action songs and use our imagination for some “let’s pretend” and games. Most suitable for children aged 1 to 5 years but older and younger children are also welcome. All children should be accompanied by an adult - who gets to join in too! Just drop in for as long as you wish.
Cost: Suggested donation £2 per child - to go to Burley Scouts and Guides

Walking Football for the over 55s
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Venue: The Recreation Ground (behind MCC garage)
Come along to find out more about the growing sport of Walking Football. Representatives of West Riding FA will be on hand to organise a suitable warm-up session, followed by a few games. There are several Walking Football teams for men and women already operating in the Wharfe Valley. So, if you are over 55 and don’t fancy hanging up your football boots yet, or if you want to try football for the first time then come along and find out more. Bring trainers, shin pads, water and money for drinks after the game. Afterwards a free supper will be provided in the Red Lion for anyone participating in the session and buying after game drinks there.

Assistance dogs are perhaps better known for being the eyes and ears of their owner. But what about replacing their nose? And what if a dog’s sense of smell could pick up on warning signals that have the potential to save lives? Come along to this evening talk to learn more.

Another chance to hear more about life in Japan from Elizabeth who lived there for 10 years. After looking at Japanese Festivals in the 2018 Festival Programme, this year we’ll discover lots about luck and superstitions! Do you know what Japanese people throw round their houses in February to keep ogres away? Come and find out!
Participants will have the chance to write or paint their own greetings card in Japanese to take home. No artistic talent required - templates provided! All materials also provided.
