Acclaimed folk singer Charlie Dore to perform at Burley Summer Festival
The multi talented and award-winning Charlie Dore will be taking a brief break from her 17-date UK Summer Tour to perform at the opening weekend of Burley’s Summer Festival on Saturday 19th August. Charlie will be on stage at the Burley Social Club from 8:30pm and tickets are £14.50, although early bird tickets are currently available at the reduced price of £13.00 - for details please Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Charlie’s contemporary music, which features her singing and playing guitar, ukulele, piano, harp and harmonium, is known for being eclectic and personal. Her latest album ‘Dark Matter’ was released in the UK on 12th May and follows her 2014 album ‘Milk Roulette’ which was described by The Guardian as 'A gift for melody, brave, poignant, entertaining, original' and also featured in The Telegraph’s Best Folk Albums list.
In addition to recording and performing her own music, Charlie is a highly successful songwriter; her songs have been recorded by George Harrison, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Paul Carrick, Jimmy Nail and Joe Brown. She’s also written music for television and film and has acted on stage and TV, radio with Eric Idle and opposite Jonathan Pryce in the award winning film The Ploughmans Lunch. She also co-founded and performed at West End Improv-Comedy venue The Hurricane Club alongside Robin Williams, Harry Hill, Lee Evans and Jo Brand.
